Counselling for Destructive Behaviour

Anger and frustration can arise as a result of feeling out of control, whether it be in a given situation, or dealing with emotions, and can be channelled into destructive behaviour towards ourselves or others around us. There are several behavioural patterns that Cheshire Therapy can help overcome through psychotherapy or counselling such as those listed below.

Coping strategies are taught to the client to help them deal with the stress that either causes these behaviours, or results from them.

Exploration into how the client relaxes, takes time out, is important, relaxation techniques are taught to help manage stressful times.

Behavioural Problems in Children

It is recognised that working with children is a very sensitive area, and all measures are taken to ensure a safe environment for children in Therapy.

Parent's permission is required for the under eighteens, and for the under fourteens, parents can wait out side the consultation room.

However, the nature of the issue remains confidential between Therapist and client, regardless of the age group, unless there is a specific reason why it should be disclosed.
