Post Natal Support
Post-natal depression means becoming depressed after having a baby. Sometimes this may occur if the baby is unwanted or abnormal in some way, however in most cases the depression is inexplicable. In this case it is helpful to try counselling to help overcome these confusing feelings.
Women often face the attitude from others, that they will "snap" out of it,
But this is a time when women need all the support they can get.
Symptoms of Post Natal Depression
Postnatal depression is often hard to recognise as a problem as many women feel hormone changes are a natural part of childbirth. However it is important to recognise when these feelings are disrupting your every day life:
- Depression. Feeling that life is bleak at a time that should be full of happiness
- Fatigue. Feelings of utter exhaustion.
- Insomnia.
- Loss of Appetite.
- Loss of enjoyment. Especially towards sex.
- Not coping. Unable to cope with the new baby
- Anxiety. being afraid of the baby or what may happen to it.
Cheshire therapy provides support for mothers who feel they cannot cope with their new baby. Counselling and Psychotherapy assist in dealing with these unwanted feelings and learning to find joy in your new arrival.
